Weipa Fishing Lodge

lodge11For many people travelling into Weipa, the choice of accommodation has remained the same for numerous years. This was until recently when owners Colin and Maree from the Weipa Campgrounds decided to enter into a new style of accommodation. After some time in the design stage with Maree at the helm, the building was ready to take form and was finally ready for its first lot of bookings.

The resort style accommodation is an absolute breath of fresh air. Nestled right on the waters of Albatross Bay and the mouth of the Mission River, it provides for an ideal place to unwind after a long day sightseeing, fishing, or just relaxing in the spa at the resort.

The resort accommodates a total of 17 people and comprises five bedrooms, all with ensuites, ocean views and TV including Austar.
Those interested in fishing will appreciate the thought that has gone into the design, including personalised fish species on each of the doors to the five rooms, and even the toilet. All paintings and art (including the fish) were done locally which is great to see.lodge4
The central area of the resort has a communal kitchen and dining room as well as a theatre room ideal for both playing back the days footage from your digital camera, or for conferences.
There is also a full laundry area including washing machines and dryers, plus a pool/spa.
Prices are very competitive and current bookings indicate that this special part of Weipa is highly sought after for accommodation amongst both tourists and business people travelling into Weipa.
